This 21st December is going to be exciting. There is going to be a conjunction of two planets. What is a conjunction? A conjunction is when two celestial objects appear to be close in the sky, although in reality they might very far away from each other.
Este 21 de diciembre va a ser emocionante. Va haber una conjuncción de dos planetas. Que es una conjunción? Una conjunción es cuando dos objetos celestes parecen estar juntos en el cielo, cuando en realidad están muy lejos de si mismos.
During the summer night sky, we have been able to observe Jupiter and Saturn near to each other. On the 21st we will see them so close to each other that they will look like a great bright star. You will be able to see it at sunset if you look to the southwest.
Durante las noches de verano, hemos podido observar Jupiter y Saturno cerca el uno del otro. El día 21 los podremos ver uno tan cerca del otro que parecerán una gran estrella brillante. Lo podeis ver si miráis hacia el suroeste al atardecer.
After the sun has gone down you will still be able to see for another two hours more or less if you look to southwest near the horizon. That is based in my location in mainland Spain, if you are in another country you will have to find out what time you can see it. You can find this out in a search on google, astronomy apps, astronomy magazines, NASA or ESA (European Space Agency).
Después del atardecer se podra ver por otras dos horas más o menos si miráis al suroeste cerca del horizonte. Esto esta basado en mi ubicación en la península Iberica, sí sois de otro país tendréis que buscar la información de a que hora lo podréis ver. Podéis encontrar esta información en una búsqueda en google, en apps de astronomía, revistas de astronomía, NASA o ESA (Agencia Espacial Europea).
If you have the opportunity to see it, I would recommend it. A conjunction of the biggest gas planets of the Solar System haven´t been seen in a long time.
Sí teneís la oportunidad de verlo, os lo recomiendo. Una conjuncción de los dos planetas gaseosos más grande del Sistema Solar no se ha visto desde hace mucho tiempo.
