In today´s blog I am going to tell you what we can expect to see in the night sky of this month.
I have divided by days. I haven´t put every day of the month but only the ones that have something happening at night.
En el blog de hoy, os voy a contar todo lo que se prevee para las noches de este mes. Lo he dividido por días. No he puesto todos los días del mes, sino en los que algo emocionante va a pasar.
6th April Tuesday.
In the morning, low in the southeast horizon you can see a crescent moon near Saturn and Jupiter further to the East. One hour before dawn at 7:52 am.
You can see this with the naked eye.
6 de abril, martes.
En la mañana cerca del horizonte sur este se puede ver una luna creciente cerca de Saturno y Júpiter un poco más al este. Una hora antes de la amanecer a las 7:52 a.m.
Se puede ver a simple vista.
7th April Wednesday.
Approximately 40 minutes before dawn in the south east you can see the a 21% lit moon below the planet Jupiter. Saturn is it still visible further to the south.
Naked eye.
7 de abril, miércoles.
Aproximadamente 40 minutos después del amanecer al sureste se puede ver un un 21 % de la luna iluminada debajo del planeta Júpiter.Saturno también es visible un poco más hacia el sur.
Se puede ver a simple vista.
12th April Monday.
These won’t be easily seen; you will need a good telescope to see how Io’s shadow will cross the moon Callisto between 5:22 to 5:36 am BST (British summer time). Jupiters altitude 3.5° about the east -southeast horizon. This will not be seen in Spain.

Esto no será fácil de ver, se necesita un buen telescopio para ver como la sombra de Io cruza la luna Calisto entre las 5:22 a.m. y las 5:36 a.m. BST (Hora de verano británica). La altitud de Júpiter serán 3.5º sobre el horizonte este sureste. Este evento no será visible desde España.
13th April Tuesday.
An amazing 2% waxing moon just after sunset in the west. (20:52 pm Spanish time). The part of the moon that is in shadow should slightly glow thanks to the light reflected from Earth.

Un 2% de una maravilla luna menguante se verá después de la tardecer al oeste. A las 8:52 p.m. (hora española.)
La parte oscura de la luna brillará un poco gracias a la luz reflejada por la tierra.
15th April Thursday.
A 12% lit waxing crescent moon is between the clusters of hyades and the Pleiades. It will be in the west north-west horizon as the sky is getting dark.
15 de abril, martes.
Un 12 % de la luna iluminada creciente estará entre los cúmulos de estrellas de las hiades y pléyades. Se verá en el horizonte oeste noroeste mientras el cielo se oscurece.
21st to 23rd April Wednesday to Friday.
These nights will be good to see the Lyrid meteor shower even though there is a bright moon on those dates. The meteor shower starting point is in north-east next to the constellations Lyra and Hercules but they will be seen in many parts of the sky. Relax your eyes and be patient. It could start from 20:45 pm (mainland Spain time).
Del 21 al 23 de abril, miércoles a viernes.
Estas noches serán buenas para ver la lluvia de meteoritos de Lira incluso habiendo una luna brillante en esas fechas. La lluvia de estrellas empezará en al noroeste al lado de las constelaciones de Lira y Hércules, pero se verá por otras partes del cielo.
Relaja los ojos y ten paciencia. Empezará a partir de las 8:45 p.m. hora española.
25th April Sunday.
Venus and mercury can be seen just after Sunset in the west. They will be seen for another 35 minutes more or less.
25 de abril, domingo.
Venus y Mercurio podrán ser vistos justo después del atardecer al oeste.
Y se podrán ver por otros 35 minutos, más o menos.
26th April Monday.
Mars will be next to Gemini’s cluster in the west.
26 de abril, lunes.
Marte estará al lado del cúmulo de estrellas de Géminis.
27th April Tuesday.
We have a full moon. This one will appear slightly brighter and bigger, it’s a Supermoon (it’s closer to Earth).
27 de abril, martes.
Hay luna llena. Esta aparecerá un poco más brillante y grande, es lo que llaman una Superluna (es cuando está más cerca de la tierra).
The planet this month. Los planetas de este mes.
Jupiter and Saturn our best visible in the morning before sunrise. Jupiter this month doesn’t have a lot of altitude (that means it is not very high in the sky).
Jupiter can be seen east south east.
Saturn in the south east. Just like Jupiter it doesn’t have a lot of altitude.
Júpiter y Saturno serán más visibles en la mañana antes del amanecer. Júpiter este mes no tienen mucha altitud (eso significa que no está muy alto en el cielo).
Júpiter puede ser visto al este sureste.
Saturno se puede ver al sureste. Como Júpiter tampoco tiene mucha altitud.
Mars be seen all this month near constellations of Gemini and Taurus. At the beginning of the month it will be near Taurus, as the month advances Mars will be move towards Gemini. In the west 42° altitude.
Marte puede ser visto todo este mes cerca de las constelaciones de Géminis y Tauro. Al principio de este mes estará más cerca de Tauro, al avanzar el mes Marte se moverá hacia Géminis. Altitud de 42° al oeste.
Mercury starts in the morning sky but it changes by the 20th of April to the night sky. At the end of the month you can see it after sunset in the west north-west. In the mornings can be seen in the east.
Mercurio empiezan en el cielo de las mañanas pero cambia a ser visto por las noches para el 20 de abril. Al final del mes se puede ver después del anochecer al oeste noroeste. En las mañanas se podrá ver al este.
Venus can be seen after sunset, although it may be difficult to see for a few days because it’s at its furthest point from Earth. It will be low in the west and north-west horizon.
Venus puede ser visto después del atardecer, aunque con dificultad en algunos días porque está en el punto más lejano de la tierra. Se encontrara bajo en el horizonte oeste-noroeste.
Neptune and Uranus cannot be seeing this month.
Neptuno y Urano no se pueden ver este mes.
